Hello Texas teacher friends!
Most of my classroom experience has been in 5th grade science. Early on I struggled to find effective materials to not only help my students pass STAAR but to engage their minds and challenge them to become critical thinkers. So, I made my own resources.
Because I offer so many materials and ideas for the 5th grade Science TEKS on The Science Penguin, I decided to help teachers by making free planning guides for each unit. These planning guides include day-by-day activity suggestions to help you effectively teach the TEKS to your students, as well as literature connections, supports, and enrichment ideas.
These planning guides are based on 5 days a week with 60-70 minute long classes. Every campus, teacher, class, and student is different, so trust your professional judgment when planning for your students.
